About the project

About the project

In October 2012 the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority, a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, accepted Foundation Years' tender for the Obeleagu Erosion Control Project, one of the erosion control projects in the South East funded under the 2012 Appropriation Act.

Gully erosion is among the most serious environmental threats in south-eastern Nigeria, cutting into farmland, roads and homes. Erosion control works channel and slow storm water so that the ground stays in place.
